The power of a dream ….

Today I was doing my ritual laps at the YMCA and noticed a man in full dress and a boat life vest on the side of the pool. He was doing what I presume was accreditation for rescue. His outfit was nothing Short of heavy and cumbersome, not unlike a police rescuer. This gentleman preceded to jump into the pool and swim lap after lap in all the paraphernalia, barely pausing to change direction he kept swimming.

As I continued my own process I was in awe of his determination, I could feel his lungs screaming from the pain and fatigue, I could envisage his limbs feeling heavier each stroke and yet he kept going and I was so taken by this grit and obvious goal oriented determination.

That is the thing that sets us apart. Those that will do what it takes to reach their goals to achieve their dreams and those that forever wonder .. what if !

I was listening to a Tony Robbins audio book yesterday that said if we want to be better we should model ourselves on those that are our idols, look at the people you want to be most like and embrace all that makes them Successful. The way they walk, talk, their ideas and mannerisms, because all that makes up the person that is the pinnacle. To be a success you need to follow those that succeed and learn from them.

I have heard all my life … if you want to soar like an eagle, don’t get surrounded by a bunch of turkeys… and it never resonated more than yesterday .

I may not want to be rich beyond measure but I do want to inspire people to be the absolute best they can be because at the end of the day happiness in this life comes from feeling like we belong, we are accepted and we are important. Not to mention knowing we are loved …

as Christopher Robin said to Pooh

You are braver than you believe

stronger than you seem

Smarter than you think

And loved more than you know ..

Points to ponder on this amazing Wednesday afternoon in Warwick …

Who is your idol ? Who do you want to be like? Where do you want to be in 10 years and how can you get there?

Even the smallest things are achievable when we set our minds to believing.

Smile and Breath Deeply x
